FIRST SHOT
SECOND SHOT
THIRD SHOT
FOURTH SHOT
FIFTH SHOT
SIXTH SHOT
SEVENTH SHOT
EIGHTH SHOT
The first shot is an establishing shot of the Hawkins Laboratory and is used to set the starting scene of the TV series, they use dim lighting to give a darker tone to the shot.
The second shot has the camera placed down a long gloomy corridor in the facility, this is a long shot and is used to show the long stretch of darkness and creates anticipation.
The third shot is a mid shot of a scientist we see previously running, this shot has been used to show not only the fear on his face but his body language, as if he's defenceless; not even trying.
The fourth shot is an ultra high angle close up on the scientist's face. I believe they have used this shot to show how inferior the man is to such a large extent and also shows facial expression.
The fifth shot is an extreme close up to one of the game pieces that they are using, this is also an example of graphic match as is it is shown just after some form of monster is shown earlier.
The sixth shot is just an ordinary close up but it is used in this example to show the lack of intelligence portrayed in facial expression, with a goofy smile, loss of teeth etc.
The seventh shot is a low angle shot of the mother appearing at the top of the stairs on the kids. This could indicate to the viewers that the mother has high authorisation over the kids.
The eighth and final shot I chose is another close up but this one stuck out to me due to the pure expression of fear they were able to portray in this single shot and the impact it creates.
